¡Nuestras comunidades, unidas!
¡Nuestras comunidades, unidas! Hispanic Heritage Month is held every year from September 15th to October 15th to celebrate the independence anniversaries of many Latin American countries. This month, the Mission Society proudly highlights five trailblazers from countries like Cuba, Mexico, and the Dominican Republic, whose resilience and innovation are driving progress in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics).
Rooted in strong family values and a deep sense of community, it is their connections to their heritage and culture that fuel the groundbreaking work of these leaders. For our students who share similar backgrounds, these role models offer more than just inspiration–they provide a powerful reminder to embrace their cultural experiences and use them as a source of strength on their own paths.
We hope you will join us in celebrating these extraordinary Latine leaders in STEAM who demonstrate how heritage and innovation can thrive together.

This Hispanic Heritage Month, we celebrate the Latine role models whose stories illuminate the path for our young people following in their footsteps. With backgrounds that reflect our own community, these figures ignite a sense of pride and belonging in our students, affirming their place in STEAM fields. With students representing 37 countries across our programs, The Mission Society ensures our students feel seen and welcomed in our classrooms to build stronger, more unified communities. We’ve celebrated this diversity through multicultural events that offer an opportunity for cultural exchange, international potlucks with new and familiar flavors, meaningful discussions around cultural events, and history lessons that connect them to their roots. It’s in our classrooms where these connections flourish, and where we can deepen our understanding of the cultures that shape our communities.
