This summer, the Mission Society and BOKS Kids encouraged young people and families to join us in kicking off a running routine. The resulting series includes tips for getting started, warmups and cooldowns, and dynamic activities that emphasize the importance of health, well-being, and fun for the whole family.
Today, we're sharing our one-stop-shop for all things Run Into Summer, collecting each of our exercises here for easy and ongoing use. We hope you and your families enjoy, and that these ideas inspire a new movement practice!
Tips for Kicking Off Your Running Routine has advice from BOKS Kids for beginning runners who are hoping to build a fun, sustainable practice with their families.
Dribble, shoot, and score your way to running success with our Sports Galore Warmup.
Have a blast running your very own, made-at-home Obstacle Course.
Grab your favorite playlist, find an open space, and get moving and grooving with the Musical Run Exercise.
Vary your routine to include some conditioning with our Circuit Training Exercise.
Always be sure to take a moment after your workout to Cool Down and Stretch before moving onto the rest of your day.
Thank you to the team at BOKS Kids for encouraging all of us to hit the tracks this summer. Be sure to follow the Mission Society and BOKS Kids, and stay tuned for more stories, activities, and collaborations.
