How to Experience Theater Online

Broadway may be dark, but theater fans know that no matter what, the show must go on! Despite the fact that we can't go to theaters in person, you can still catch a performance or two online - from fully-staged musicals to Broadway professionals singing in their living rooms.

Below, we're listing a few places you can find fun theater content to enjoy with the whole family. All suggestions are available online and for free. So get ready to give your standing ovation and enjoy the show!

  • Broadway World has partnered with incredible singers to launch a series of daily Living Room Concerts — performances direct to you from the living rooms of Broadway performers!

  • The Shows Must Go On is a channel on YouTube "bringing you showtunes, backstage access and full performances from some of the best loved musicals in history".

  • Theater Horizons launched Horizons at Home, a new virtual theater and education initiative, paying performers to create from their living rooms, and educators to make fun, virtual lessons that kids can participate in from home.

  • A company called Deaf Broadway has come together to put on Broadway’s greatest musicals in American Sign Language with members of the Deaf community from around the world.

  • The Metropolitan Opera has launched a series called Nightly Met Opera Streams. Each day, a different encore presentation from the company’s Live in HD series is being made available for free streaming on the Met website.
